Hazard Pay Difficulty in JSP3

What Hazard Pay changes

Hazard Pay—shown in Japanese context as 特別手当—is Japan Stigmatized Property 3’s hard difficulty. The headline rule players feel immediately is the false-report budget: three incorrect reports end the mission, versus five on Normal. The night is still 00:00–05:00. You still fail if four anomalies sit unreported at once. You still need A/D camera work, W night vision, and mouse hold-click reports. The difficulty is that your margin for nervous guessing shrinks while the urge to guess rises.

Do not enter Hazard Pay to “learn the game.” Learn on Normal using How to Play and How to Report Anomalies, then promote yourself.

Mindset shift from Normal

On Normal, a speculative report sometimes feels cheap. On Hazard Pay, every speculative report is a third of your entire mistake allowance. That means your default action under uncertainty becomes re-check, not send.

Re-check means:

  • Both vision modes (see Night Vision Guide).
  • One full camera ring return if the tell is subtle and no audio emergency is active.
  • In co-op, a thermal second opinion before you spend a precious false slot.

You are not being timid. You are spending time instead of budget. Time regenerates every successful clear of a feed; false-report charges do not.

What does not change

Players invent myths that Hazard Pay removes co-op, changes properties, or alters the four-miss rule. Stick to known facts:

  • Properties remain Sugiya Ryokan, Blue House, Kannonzaki Park, and Y Residence.
  • Online co-op still supports two players with PC↔mobile cross-play and thermal tools.
  • Dangerous ghosts still punish neglect after knocks and moans.
  • Dawn success is still a clean enough surveillance shift to 05:00.

Hazard Pay is stricter judgment under the same association rulebook, not a different game.

Concurrent stacks still kill you

Because players become cautious about false reports, some become slow. Slow observers die to four concurrent unreported anomalies. Hazard Pay demands the harder combination: patient verification and fast priority response. The priority ladder is unchanged:

  1. Audio-telegraphed dangerous threats (Dangerous Anomalies).
  2. Confirmed anomalies already aging on distant cameras.
  3. Mode-locked anomalies that need a W toggle.
  4. Ambiguous frames that can wait one ring if your concurrent count is low.

If your concurrent count is already three, ambiguity loses its right to a leisurely second lap—unless co-op coverage is watching the stack for you.

Training ladder into Hazard Pay

  1. Clear each property once on Normal with at most two false reports.
  2. Clear one property on Normal with zero false reports while still beating concurrent pressure.
  3. Attempt Hazard Pay on that same property only.
  4. Add co-op thermal confirmation for your first Hazard Pay park or residence nights if solo anxiety spikes.
  5. After a fail, classify it: false-budget or concurrent-stack or dangerous linger. Open False Reports or Survive Until Morning accordingly—do not restart on autopilot.

Achievements and Hazard Pay

JSP3 has 32 Steam achievements, and some require co-op. Hazard Pay clears are natural achievement fuel, but stacking hard difficulty with unfamiliar properties and first-time co-op partners is how you burn evenings. Separate goals: property mastery, Hazard Pay badge nights, and co-op achievement nights.

Desk rules for 特別手当

  • Announce your false-report count to yourself or your partner after every incorrect call.
  • Ban joke reports and scare-reports entirely.
  • Keep Esc menu time short; the night does not pause your habits even if the UI does.
  • If you hit two false reports, switch to ultra-verify mode for the rest of the shift: both modes, partner confirm, no hero guesses.
  • If you hit zero false reports by 03:00, do not get cocky—late-night fatigue causes sloppy holds.

Hazard Pay is the Association admitting the site is nastier and paying you accordingly. Collect that pay only if your report discipline deserves it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Japan Stigmatized Property 3 shifts.

What is Hazard Pay in Japan Stigmatized Property 3?

Hazard Pay (特別手当) is the hard difficulty. The critical player-facing constraint is a three false-report limit instead of Normal’s five.

Does Hazard Pay change the four-anomaly fail?

No. Missing four concurrent unreported anomalies still fails the mission on both difficulties.

Should beginners start on Hazard Pay?

No. Learn controls, night vision, and reporting on Normal first, then move to Hazard Pay on a property you already cleared.

Can I play Hazard Pay in co-op?

Yes. Online 2p co-op with PC↔mobile cross-play still works, and thermal confirmation helps protect your smaller false-report budget.
